Ms. Tahiri has driven her company’s growth through melding consumer attitudes and trends with science, regulatory, and communication to deliver meaningful business strategies that enhance the global food system. Her firm is recognized globally for unwavering commitment to consumer- and customer-centric innovation. As a strategic advisor to leading food-tech companies she leverages her expertise and extensive global network to help build an innovation pipeline, Health & Wellness strategy, as well as business development through her broad global network. She also works with Investors to build new investment fund strategies and provides counsel on high-impact investments. She is experienced in interacting with all levels of corporate leadership, government officials, and regulators globally.
Previously Maha was Chief Health & Wellness Officer at General Mills, a Fortune 200 CPG company (NYSE: GIS). In this role she led a multifaceted health and wellness strategy that defined corporate positioning, consumer messaging, and increased visibility of the health aspects of company products. She successfully transformed the Bell Institute of Health and Nutrition to become a science-based innovation and business-driven organization providing a platform for product innovation. As leader of the scientific and regulatory affairs function, she mitigated risks and preserved a $500M brand name.
Earlier, as Global Innovation Director at Danone Dairy Division in Paris, France, she led breakthrough innovation teams in a challenging European regulatory environment. In earlier roles with Mars and Coca-Cola, Maha built a global network that enhanced risk mitigation and competitive advantage, and she developed innovation strategies to launch healthier products and improve company reputation.
Maha has appreciation for strong governance and engaged leadership. She has held numerous advisory and board roles with industry, professional, academic, and government organizations across the food sector. As an Officer of General Mills, she routinely informed and advised the Social Responsibility Committee of the Board.
